The container necks and closures preferably feature a pair of endless beads that provide a moisture barrier, eliminating the need for supplemental cap liners.

The closure is reversible between a child resistant configuration and a non-child resistant configuration, e.g., by snapping the closure onto the neck of the vial and rotating it so that the gate opening 4 of the vial neck finish mates with the radial bead opening 8 of the closure gate 8. The CR side of the closure aligns with the gate opening 4, while the NCR side of the closure aligns with the reference mark 10 on the vial.
